AMostWantedManFor the month of September, Cinecenta has a treat for film lovers of both old and new. Movies such as Ghostbusters, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Obvious Child, Neighbors, Edge of Tomorrow, Earth to Echo, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show will delight all at the little theatre located on the University of Victoria campus.

Cinecenta will also be celebrating their 5th Latin America and Spanish film week with such films as 7 Boxes, The Amazing Catfish, The Delay, and A Gun in Each Hand.

Coming soon to The Fritz will be Woody Allen’s Magic in the Moonlight, Lucy, and the National Theatre’s production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

September 3rd will be a matinée of The Peace Makers, a film created by Words of Peace Global. Admission will be by donation.

The Vic Theatre will be showing films for five dollars between August 30th and September 1st; Godzilla, Neighbors, and A Million Ways to Die in the West. All five dollar films start at 7pm.

Sidney’s Star Cinema has tickets on sale for the 2014-15 season of The Metropolitan Opera. Tickets are $24 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $185 for a series pass.

Movies such as Ghostbusters, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Obvious Child, Neighbors, Edge of Tomorrow, Maleficent, and Lawrence of Arabia will delight all at the little theatre located at the University of Victoria campus.

Cinecenta will also be celebrating their 5th Latin America and Spanish film week with movies from such filmmakers as Rodrigo H. Vila, Juan Carlos Maneglia, Shula Erenberg, and Cesc Gay.

Meanwhile, at The Fritz (a theatre located on Salt Spring Island) will offer what every sci-fi fan want. On Agusut 27th and 28th at 7pm, they will be showing Doctor Who, series 8 premiere episode “Deep Breath.”

The Vic Theatre will be showing Gareth Edward’s Godzilla on Saturday, August 30th for a low $5 admission. Film starts at 7pm.

Coming soon to Sidney’s Star Cinema will be Maïna (2013), winner of Best Picture at the American Indian Film Festival and nominated for six Canadian Screen Awards at the 2nd Annual Canadian Screenm Awards.

Coming soon to a theatre near you will be Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy at The Fritz, the musical comedy Frank at The Vic Theatre starring Michael fassbender, and the king of all monsters, Godzilla, will be appearing in his latest release at the Cinecenta on August 15th and 16th.

Begin Again, starring Mark Ruffalo and Kiera Knightley is currently in the second week at Sidney’s Star Cinema.

The Vic Theatre will be showing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this Sunday, August 3, for a small ticket price of $5. If you didn’t get to see the web slinger the first time out or didn’t want to spend full ticket price to see this film, now is your chance.

It is available to Students, Cinemagic Members, UVic Alumni, UVic Faculty & Staff and Seniors. There is a limit of two per customer. The Vic Theatre has announced their August movie line-up. For film aficianados who missed them the first time around, The Vic will include such titles as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone), Snowpiercer (Chris Evans and Jamie Bell), Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Matthew Goode) and the box office smash (or stomp) Godzilla (Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen).
