Evil Acres Slaughter House Extreme & Darkness Maze

Oct 10-11, 17-19, Oct 24-Nov 1
Location: 10375 Wilson Road – Saanich

Evil Acres is offering what may be the best of what a haunted house scare can create. Sure, there’s Galey Farm’s Festival of Fear, a PG-13 version with kid-friendly rides and a corn maze of terror, but for adults looking for a more heart-thumping spin, they do have a separate attraction. However, there’s no denying Evil Acres or even those larger theme-park attractions will pack higher production values that the daring really craves. Is that real blood they’re using? Oh dear.

This year’s theme is a slaughter-house approach and a darkness maze where there’ll be plenty of live action scares to get people freaking.

Tickets can be purchased through Incharacter Costumes & Novelties at Hillside and Westshore Shopping Center.

Galey Farms Pumpkin Fest

Begins Oct 11 and recurring every weekend.
Location: 4150 Blenkinsop Road – Saanich

This annual lower Saanich event has been running for as long as some paranormal investigators can remember and it’s more of a family outing than spooky chase for folks craving a Children of the Corn experience. But it has to be talked about nonetheless. This attraction is more like a visit to the farm all dressed up for Halloween, complete with all the fun that a child can enjoy, including train rides and safe romps through the field.

Voices of the Past

Oct 11, 12, 18,19, 25, 26 7pm
Location: St Ann’s Academy
(835 Humboldt Street) – Victoria

There has been many a tale about what goes on at St. Ann’s Academy late at night. Past security guards have felt weird things before the building was repurposed (it sat abandoned during the 90’s) and now that it’s a heritage site, anyone can visit. Thankfully, the ghosts are quaint — said to be that of this building’s former occupants — but the haunts are not for those who are faint of heart.

Those who are not educated in how to deal with them will no doubt feel a bit squeamish. Honestly, there is nothing to be afraid of here. The life and times of these nuns and just what kind of paranormal phenomena happens can be explained by those in the know, like when Paranormal Victoria hosted their very first public meetup.com event here! A further investigation revealed much more though. Who knows, maybe some people will hear mysterious organ music playing in the background too!
